Health and Safety for Leaders

Managers and supervisors can be held accountable – and liable – for work / occupational health and safety, making it essential they understand their W/OHS responsibilities.  Our proven Health and Safety for Leaders workshop – a two half-day program delivered in person (or remotely)builds this understanding through practical strategies, clear responsibilities, and collaboration with Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs).

Who Will Benefit from the Program?
– Senior Managers
– Frontline Supervisors
– Team Leaders.

Longer two- or three-day programs are available for organisations requiring comprehensive training; contact us for details.

Specialised Workshops for Victorian Schools
We also offer a tailored program for managers and leaders in Victorian schools, supporting principals, assistant principals, business managers, executives, senior managers, and team leaders in meeting their health and safety obligations.

Making My Health and Safety MY BUSINESS

– our ‘flagship’ new generation W/OHS program.  If you are only going to do one safety program, make it this one.

This dynamic three- or four-day onsite program empowers every participant to take personal ownership of workplace health and safety, shifting the mindset from it being “someone else’s job”, to making it  “MY BUSINESS.”

Through interactive discussions, real case studies, and practical examples, participants explore topics such as safety culture, leadership, conflict management, emotional intelligence, and overcoming complacency.

Outcomes:

– Build a consistent, proactive approach to health and safety

– Foster a “Find It & Fix It” culture focused on learning, not blame

– Encourage personal responsibility across all levels

– Identify and address risky behaviours before they lead to harm.

Making Health and Safety Committees Effective

There is a saying that “a camel is a horse designed by a committee.” Our ‘Making Health and Safety Committees Effective’ program is crafted to transform committees into proactive, results-oriented teams. The program builds the confidence, clarity, and collaboration skills of committee members. By focusing on these key areas, participants are empowered to move beyond mere compliance and towards genuine engagement with workplace safety.

Throughout the program, participants learn essential strategies for identifying priorities within their workplace, communicating effectively with all stakeholders, and influencing meaningful change in the safety culture. The approach is practical and hands-on, featuring real-world case examples and actionable tools. As a result, committees are equipped to conduct meetings that are both purposeful and engaging, make decisions that are well-informed, and ensure that their outcomes are measurable and impactful.

Psychological Health and Psychosocial hazards and risks

In our 1-day Zoom workshop on Psychological Health, Dr Jennifer Rice (a community psychologist) and Dr David McIvor discuss the journey from psychosocial hazards to stress to injury and illness.

And we also discuss the Regulations and Codes on Psychological Health that impose statutory obligations on employers.

We explore psychosocial hazards and how to apply the OHS Risk Management process to address them. Participants learn what to do and how to do it, covering:

– Understanding psychosocial hazards and risks
– New regulatory requirements
– Managing psychological health, stress, and risk
– Practical case studies and solutions.
